Spiritual Path? Not Me! by Sharmai Amber

I was talking to a business associate the other day who mentioned that his roommates were both on a spiritual path as evidenced by the Shambhala and Reiki magazines on the coffee table. He confessed he was not. Instead, he was in love with music and every waking moment away from work he was involved in music. I quietly smiled.

Everyone is on a Spiritual Path. Only real question is: Are you awake to it yet?

The difference from being on a spiritual path, or not, is perspective. Those on a spiritual path simply look at their lives through a different set of lenses. They realize that every event in our life happens for a reason. Our job is to figure out the reason the event happened and allow the event to point to areas in ourselves where we need to change and improve. As we learn how to take each event or experience in life and examine it through the lens of what do I need to learn, a deeper understanding begins emerging. "Bad" experiences begin to point to areas where we need to grow. This is the process of self-realization. This is the path to a more soulful life that yields more personal fulfillment.

ALL of life is Spiritual. A spiritual path is called a spiritual path because when we make changes in ourselves our Spirit (also called Soul or Higher Self) changes right along with us. So, we are facilitating changes for our Soul, whether we are conscious about that or not.
